Real-World History
Mitsubishi released the Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition in 1999 to celebrate the Finnish driver's four consecutive World Rally Championship titles with the manufacturer's team. The TME variant featured a special quick-spool turbocharger, recalibrated all-wheel-drive system, lighter forged wheels, and a unique Passion Red paint option commemorating Mäkinen's national colors. Production was limited to 2,500 examples, making it the rarest Evolution variant before the Final Edition.
