Real-World History
Built by Roush Yates Engines and Detroit Speed for rally legend Ken Block, the Hoonicorn is a 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback chassis hiding a custom-built 410 cubic-inch naturally-aspirated V8 in its first version. The 2016 V2 update added twin turbochargers and a centrifugal supercharger, raising output to roughly 1,400 horsepower while also converting the drivetrain from rear-wheel drive to all-wheel drive. The car appeared in Block's Climbkhana and Gymkhana TEN videos before his death in early 2023.

In the Forza Horizon Series
Forza Horizon 3 introduced the Hoonicorn through a Hoonigan car pack DLC, and it became a recurring leaderboard fixture in subsequent entries. Horizon 5 added it as a free Festival Playlist reward, and Horizon 6 includes both V1 and V2 specifications. Following Ken Block's passing, players globally created tribute liveries, and the in-game car briefly received a memorial edition trim.
The Hoonicorn Forza Horizon car appears across 4 entries: FH3, FH4, FH5, FH6. As a Hoonicorn Forza Horizon car entry, it sits in the X-class bracket at stock tune.
Tuning Notes
Drift specialists routinely convert the AWD layout to rear-wheel drive in the tuning menu, then dial back power to manageable levels using the boost slider. The car's enormous torque output means even half-throttle inputs produce wheelspin, so traction control set to a low percentage helps newer players control angle. For Drag Strip events, leave AWD enabled, fit drag tires, and lower the rear ride height — the launch traction with all four wheels driven is unmatched.
For the Hoonicorn Forza Horizon car, the most successful community blueprints share a few common adjustments: balanced aero, tire compound matched to event surface, and gearing tuned for the specific Festival Playlist scenario rather than maximum top speed. The Hoonicorn Forza Horizon car responds best when the tuner respects the chassis's inherent character rather than trying to mask it with extreme settings.
Trivia & Lore
The real Hoonicorn beat a Bugatti Chiron in a 2017 BBC Top Gear drag race despite weighing nearly 700 kg less. Block's daughter Lia continues to compete in motorsport using cars from his collection, keeping the Hoonigan brand active.
